INTRO TO URBAN SKETCHING WORKSHOP
START THE JOURNEY TO BECOME AN ARTIST IN 2019
Grab your gear and spend four-days in and around beautiful Yackandandah in Autumn, sketching with watercolour.
WHO IS IT FOR?
For those who are interested in keeping a visual diary or journal.
For those who love the idea of doing small sketches on-site.
For those who don’t want to carry a lot of equipment or do large paintings.
For those who want to find out more about the worldwide urban sketching movement.
For those who want to learn the fundamentals of doing small watrcolour and/or pencil/pen sketches.
NOTE: We will be painting out in different locations such as Yackandandah, Beechworth, the Kiewa Valley and more! Transport will be by minibus, with the Artist as driver and navigator!
TIMES & DATES
Monday, 29 April - Thursday, 2 May
9.00 am – 4.00 pm (breaks for lunch, morning and afternoon tea)
Maximum class size is 10 and a mimimum of 6 is required for the workshop to proceed.
NOTE: Please do not buy new equipment until you receive confirmation that the workshop is running.
If you are new to urban sketching, you will need to buy equipment.
A list of suggested materials can be found here, which you can use to decide what to buy.
This is just a general list and does not need to be followed strictly.
However, if you do not want to be bothered hunting down equipment or deciding what to buy, I have organised a pre-prepared urban sketching kit for purchase.
If you buy this kit, it will be available to collect at the commencement of the workshop.
Please order at least three weeks before the workshop begins.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Any experience level welcome.
Please note - Participants must be 18 years old or over.
The price for the workshop is $660 (includes tuition, morning tea and transport to various destination by minibus).
A deposit of $200 per workshop is required to secure a place.
This is a non-refundable deposit, so please make sure you are committed.
Due on 8 April 2019 (21 days before the commencement of the workshop). You will receive an email as a reminder to pay the balance.

THIS PRICE INCLUDES A NON-REFUNDABLE $200 DEPOSIT.
CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED IN WRITING BEFORE 21 DAYS OF THE WORKSHOP COMMENCEMENT DATE, WILL REECEIVE A REFUND OF $460; CANCELLATIONS WITHIN 21 DAYS OF THE COMMENCEMENT DATE, WILL RESULT IN A LOSS OF MONIES PAID. CIRCUMSTANCES MAY ARISE WHERE THIS WORKSHOP MAY BE CANCELLED OR POSTPONED AND IN THOSE INSTANCES, A FULL REFUND WILL BE OFFERED.
Accommodation, travel and meals are at your own expense.
Note that Yackandandah Motor Inn (which is very close to my Gallery) and Top of the Town Motor Inn will both give you a special rate if you are doing my workshop and staying for 5 nights or more. There are several B&B’s in the Yackandandah area.
For a cabin, you can stay at the Yackandandah Holiday Park.
If you wish to investigate accommodation possibilities, you could simply google. There are places to stay in Albury/Wodonga, Beechworth or Yackandandah.
Once you have booked, start counting the sleeps and book somewhere to stay whilst in Yack!
