WHAT TO BRING

THE MEDIUM

Please bring the watercolour gear you normally use. If you need an idea of the equipment I use, you can see my generic list here, but please don’t be restricted by this list or feel you need to rush out and buy new equipment.

Since part of this workshop is aimed at combining your watercolours with other mediums, you may like to bring additinal mediums such as gouache, coloured pencils, ink, conte, charcoal etc.

Please do not bring oils as these are too messy for the class room.

THE SURFACES

Part of freshening up your watercolours will be about trying different surfaces. So I suggest you bring the following:

  • Rough textured paper

  • Hot press paper

  • Canvas board (can be cheap such as this one from Officeworks) oer you may prefer it stretched like this one.

  • Yupo paper (note: I will hace Yupo at the workshop for purchase)

OTHER THINGS TO BRING

You will also need to bring the following:

  • A laptop/tablet or phone with charger

  • Photos (hard copies or on your device) of pictures you are interested in painting

  • Paintings you have done that you consider to be failures or that you are unhappy with

  • A notebook for taking any notes
