Loch Ard | Giclee Print

from A$165.00

Artist: Charles Sluga
Medium: Fine Art Giclee Print
what is a giclee print?

Painting Description

Print is of the original painting: This artwork draws its inspiration from the poignant history of Loch Ard Gorge, a site marked by the tragic shipwreck of the Loch Ard in 1878. I used a fractured composition to symbolise the destruction wrought by nature's formidable forces. The piece is divided into strips that mirror the rhythmic rise and fall of ocean waves, visually representing the sea's perpetual motion. This fragmentation not only conveys the chaos and destruction of shipwrecks but also pays homage to the rhythmic beauty and relentless energy of the ocean.

“We acknowledge the original custodians of these lands. The people of the rivers and the hills have walked these lands for thousands of years as well as today, and we pay respects to the elders of the past, present and emerging.”
