DESCRIPTION
I think of sketchbooking as being a mash up of urban sketching, journalling and plein air painting.
Enjoy the freedom and joy of sketchbooking and find out why it is so important for your creative ideas. In this course you will learn how to fill your sketchbook with memorable sketches of your world using pencil, pen, watercolours and/or gouache. You will learn to experiment and look at the world differently. You will learn, not only how to put people in your scenes, understand perspective, but how to push ideas and experiment with compositions and explore using your sketchbook.
After a day in the studio learning the fundamental skills, we will then spend the next four days visiting different locations to fill your sketchbook with fresh and varied compositions. This is the perfect workshop for expanding your repetoire and discovering what is possible.
For those who are interested in keeping a visual diary or journal.
For those with any level of experience - beginners to advanced.
For those who love the idea of doing small sketches on-site.
For those who don’t want to carry a lot of equipment or do large paintings.
For those who like to experiment with new subject matter.
For those who want to learn the fundamentals of doing small watercolour/gouache and/or pencil/pen sketches.
Please note - participants must be 18 years old or over.
NOTE: We will be painting out in different locations, both in doors and out doors. Transport will be by minibus, with the Artist as driver and navigator!
